Scripture lesson: Proverbs 2:1-11 Listen to Wisdom

Time to reflect: We all naturally think we are naturally wise. We feel like we can rely on our own intelligence and instincts. But this passage (and surely experience) teaches us that we gain wisdom (not just learning but wisdom) by work and by listening to outside voices, especially God's.

Moving through the day: Pledge yourself for the day to stop before every significant decision and think about what God's wisdom might suggest in the situation.

Scripture:

My heart is steadfast, O God;
       I will sing and make music with all my soul.

  Awake, harp and lyre!
       I will awaken the dawn.

  I will praise you, O LORD, among the nations;
       I will sing of you among the peoples.

  For great is your love, higher than the heavens;
       your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
