Tuesday

Scripture lesson: 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 Even Lectionaries recognize stewardship season..

Time to reflect: The given text for today is a common one at this time of year. I have little to add. “cheerful giver” is not an oxymoron, by the way. Part of the point of this passage is about starting attitude. One's attitude about giving affects the out come for giver and receiver.

Moving through the day: Everyone is a little bit crazy when it comes to money. Pray to God for guidance on how to be a “cheerful giver.”

2 Corinthians 9:6-8

6 The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.
