Scripture lesson: 1 Chronicles 29:11-13 To God is the glory
Time to reflect: This is King David talking. It really is not typical for us to praise God, much less in such extravagant terms. But if David can do this why shouldn't we. We really don't like to think of God as a “ruler” and “master” or “head over all.” But if not God, then whom?
Moving through the day: Pray these words, slowly and carefully and think of their implications.
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honor come from you;
you are the ruler of all things.
In your hands are strength and power
to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.
